Shane Gillis Hosts 'SNL' Again This Weekend, With Rosalía Set to Perform
The stand-up comic returns to Studio 8H for his third hosting stint Saturday, with the Spanish pop star bringing her new album era to '30 Rock' as musical guest for the second time.

"Saturday Night Live" has its lineup set for this weekend: comedian Shane Gillis returns to host for the third time, with Spanish singer Rosalía booked as musical guest for her second appearance on the show, according to scheduling details reported by TVLine and the show's own episode guide.
Gillis's relationship with "SNL" has been anything but conventional. He was cast as a featured player in 2019 but was let go before ever appearing on air, after old podcast clips using racial and homophobic slurs resurfaced. He spent the next several years building a stand-up career largely outside the mainstream comedy establishment, then returned to host the show in 2024 — a booking that drew public objections from some current and former cast members at the time. Saturday's episode will mark his third time behind the host's monologue podium.
Rosalía's booking lines up with a new era for the Barcelona-born artist, who has spent much of the year promoting new music. Her second "SNL" musical-guest slot gives her one of the most closely watched performance stages in music to introduce new material to a national television audience.
A busy month at Studio 8H
The Gillis-Rosalía episode follows a stretch of high-profile bookings for the show. The previous episode, which aired October 3, was hosted by actress Dakota Johnson promoting her film "Verity," with the hardcore band Turnstile serving as musical guest — a pairing that drew attention for mixing a mainstream Hollywood host with one of punk's more abrasive breakout acts.
Looking further ahead, "SNL" has already locked in its Halloween episode: actress Inde Navarrette is set to make her hosting debut on October 31, with singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams as musical guest, continuing the show's tradition of stunt-casting around the holiday.
THIRD TIME HOSTING FOR GILLIS
The show has leaned heavily this season on a mix of comedy-world veterans and chart-topping musical guests to stay culturally relevant in its 52nd year on air, even as streaming numbers on Peacock increasingly factor into how NBC measures the show's success alongside traditional overnight ratings.
The episode airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with next-day streaming available on Peacock.
