Taylor Frankie Paul is walking away from "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" ahead of Season 6, announcing her exit in an Instagram post that also took aim at her castmates.

Paul said she's stepping back from the Hulu series while she continues custody negotiations involving her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares one son, and her ex-husband, Tate Paul, with whom she shares a son and a daughter. In her post, she accused cast members of piling on, writing that "laughing about my kids is disgusting."

"Originally willing" to step back quietly

Paul said she was "originally willing to be removed" from the show to reduce stress on everyone involved, but expressed frustration that castmates continued making public statements about her despite what she described as months of awareness of ongoing issues within the friend group.

The announcement comes about a week after fellow cast member Mikayla Matthews said she, too, would be leaving the show. It also follows a stretch of public turmoil for Paul, who voluntarily checked into a rehabilitation facility in July following months of fallout from a now-closed police investigation into an alleged domestic incident involving Mortensen.

Hulu has not commented on how Paul's departure will affect the show's upcoming season, which was expected to begin filming soon.
