"The Batman Part II" has stopped rolling. Warner Bros. and DC Studios confirmed production on the Robert Pattinson-led sequel has been temporarily paused while director Matt Reeves steps away to deal with a personal family matter, with the studio saying in a statement that Reeves "has the full support of DC Studios, and we look forward to continuing the journey soon," according to Yahoo Entertainment.
The film had been shooting in London since June, with Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne alongside Colin Farrell's Penguin, Jeffrey Wright's Jim Gordon and Andy Serkis's Alfred, plus splashy new additions Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Jayme Lawson and Charles Dance.
No details on the nature of Reeves' family matter have been released, and it's unclear whether the pause will threaten the film's February 18, 2028 release date. For now, Gotham's biggest sequel in years is on an indefinite hold — and fans are left speculating in the meantime.
