Only two games were on the NBA schedule Thursday night, and both went comfortably to the home team. Stephen Curry scored 29 points on 6-of-11 shooting from three as the Golden State Warriors cruised past the Miami Heat 120-100 at Chase Center, while Devin Booker poured in 30 to lead the Phoenix Suns past the Orlando Magic 117-104.

Curry's night was vintage Curry: efficient, ice-cold from distance, and enough to put the game away early. Draymond Green chipped in 11 assists to keep the Warriors' offense humming, and Charles Bassey added three blocks defensively. Miami got a strong individual effort from Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds, but the Heat never found an answer for Golden State's ball movement, falling by 20.

Suns hold off Magic behind Booker

In Phoenix, Booker's 30 points led all scorers as the Suns improved to 2-5 on the young season with a 13-point win over Orlando. Miles Bridges grabbed 13 rebounds to go with his scoring, helping Phoenix control the glass. Orlando got a strong all-around game from Wendell Carter Jr., who posted 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Franz Wagner dished out 15 assists and added four steals — but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit, and the Magic dropped to 2-6.

No triple-doubles were recorded on the night, though five players — Carter Jr., Antetokounmpo, Adebayo, Bridges and Wagner — finished with double-doubles. With a light national slate, both results offered an early-season gut check: Golden State's ball movement looked sharp against a Miami team still finding its footing, while Phoenix's win kept its slow start from sliding further.
