Barry Manilow, 83, Scraps More Vegas Shows After Performance Screeches to a Halt Mid-Set
The legendary crooner's residency hit more turbulence when a technical meltdown cut a Thursday show short, forcing two more cancellations as he continues recovering from lung cancer surgery.

Barry Manilow's Westgate Las Vegas residency hit another snag this week when a Thursday night show was stopped roughly 40 minutes in, prompting the 83-year-old singer to cancel his Friday and Saturday performances as well.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Kats! column, the show's media server lost its time code and a backup server failed to come online — the computer system that syncs audio, video and projection for the production. "In essence, everything was out of synch," Manilow's team said. A statement posted to his Instagram read: "We're very sorry, but we have to cancel tonight and tomorrow's performances. Due to technical and vocal problems, we're unable to put on our show." Fans were told refunds would process automatically.
A rocky comeback from cancer surgery
The cancellations extend a difficult stretch for Manilow, who revealed in December 2025 that doctors had found lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove a tumor earlier this year. Fox News reported that his February Las Vegas dates were the first to be postponed on doctors' advice, followed by the launch of his arena tour in late February and March, and then more arena shows in April. He has said the recovery has gone relatively smoothly considering the diagnosis. "I'm one of the lucky ones; I don't have to have chemo, radiation and all that stuff," Manilow has said of his treatment.
WE'RE VERY SORRY, BUT WE HAVE TO CANCEL
Manilow, whose career spans five decades and hits including "Mandy," "Copacabana" and "I Write the Songs," has built one of Vegas's most durable residencies at the Westgate. AOL's report noted fans in the room described the Thursday stoppage as abrupt but said Manilow appeared in good spirits before the technical issues forced the early exit. No word yet on when the residency will resume, though his team has not announced any additional postponements beyond this weekend's two shows.
