Ella Langley's country crossover hit "Choosin' Texas" just did something no woman in music history has done outside the holiday charts: it logged an 18th total week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest non-holiday run atop the chart by a female artist ever, according to the Aug. 22 Billboard chart.

The only song with a longer overall run by a woman is Mariah Carey's holiday perennial "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which has spent 22 weeks at No. 1 — but that tally is built almost entirely on repeat holiday-season chart returns, not one continuous run. Langley's streak, by contrast, has stayed in the top slot largely uninterrupted since the song's breakout earlier this year, Fox News/OutKick reports.

The record cements Langley, a rising star out of Alabama who broke through with 2024's "You Look Like You Love Me" alongside Riley Green, as one of the biggest crossover country acts in the genre's current pop-charts moment.
