Jesse McCartney & Wife Expecting Baby No. 2 After Son's Terrifying NICU Battle
The "Beautiful Soul" singer and wife Katie Peterson announced they're expecting again, 17 months after son Archer arrived three months early and spent 70 days in intensive care.
Jesse McCartney and wife Katie Peterson are expecting baby No. 2 — and this time, they're hoping for a smoother ride than their first. The couple announced the pregnancy Oct. 1 on Instagram, with E! News reporting a joint caption reading, "Archer is getting promoted to big brother." The baby is due in March 2027.
Archer, now 16 months old, arrived three months premature in May 2025 and spent 70 days in the NICU before coming home — an experience Peterson has called "a truly terrifying experience and yet wildly hopeful," while encouraging other parents navigating similar journeys.
McCartney, 39, and Peterson, 38, married in October 2021. The singer has largely kept his family life out of the spotlight since Archer's birth, making this new pregnancy announcement a rare, joyful glimpse into their world.
