Ring, Ring: Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley Are Engaged
The country legend popped the question to the "Austin Powers" star after a little over a year together — and the internet noticed the diamond before anyone said a word.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Elizabeth Hurley are engaged, multiple outlets reported Thursday, capping a romance that began as one of 2025's most unexpected celebrity pairings. TMZ reported that Cyrus got down on one knee and proposed, and Hurley said yes, citing a Page Six report built on sources close to the couple.
Neither star has issued a formal statement, but both left a trail of breadcrumbs. Hurley posted a mirror selfie from the set of Peacock's "The 'Burbs," where she plays matriarch Beverly Fisher, showing off a large diamond on her left ring finger. A source told Page Six, as relayed by the Mirror's report via AOL, "She's filming 'The 'Burbs'; I hardly think this ring is a prop." Cyrus, for his part, posted an Instagram caption promoting his new single "Party's in the Back" with a ring emoji, writing that the track "kinda has a ring to it." Hurley's son Damian, whom she had with the late producer Steve Bing, commented on the post with a celebratory emoji of his own.
"SHE'S FILMING 'THE 'BURBS'; I HARDLY THINK THIS RING IS A PROP."
Cyrus, 65, and Hurley, 61, have been romantically linked since going public on Easter Sunday 2025, though they'd first met years earlier on the set of the 2022 holiday film "Christmas in Paradise." Their relationship made its biggest public splash at the 2025 CMA Awards, and Hurley told reporters around that time, "I think people found Billy and I being together a little surprising." An engagement would be the fourth marriage for Cyrus — whose previous marriages were to Cindy Smith, Tish Cyrus and Firerose — and the second for Hurley, who was previously married to businessman Arun Nayar from 2007 to 2011.
No wedding date or venue has been announced, and representatives for both stars had not responded to requests for comment at the time of the initial reports. Cyrus kept up his normal schedule Thursday, posting about an upcoming pre-race concert at NASCAR's Freeway Insurance 500 without mentioning the engagement — suggesting an official confirmation, if it comes, may still be days away.
