Savannah Chrisley Claps Back at Critics of Her 27-Year Age Gap With Pardoned Fraudster Fiancé Jason Galanis
The 'Chrisley Knows Best' alum, 29, is pregnant and engaged to 56-year-old Jason Galanis — a Trump-commuted financial fraudster once linked to Hunter Biden — and says she "genuinely does not care" what anyone thinks.
NASHVILLE, TENN. — Savannah Chrisley says she's done apologizing. The "Chrisley Knows Best" star, 29, confirmed last week that she's engaged and expecting her first child with 56-year-old businessman Jason Galanis — and has spent the days since pushing back hard against backlash over both the 27-year age gap and her fiancé's criminal past.
Chrisley announced the engagement and pregnancy on Instagram on Oct. 27, calling the baby the couple's "sweetest blessing yet," according to Fox 5 Atlanta. Galanis proposed in December 2025 during a trip to the Cayman Islands, and the two are now planning a wedding for May 2027.
"YES, THERE IS A HUGE AGE GAP THERE, OK? ... BUT I GENUINELY DO NOT CARE"
The relationship has drawn scrutiny well beyond the usual reality-TV gossip cycle because of who Galanis is. He was sentenced to 189 months — nearly 16 years — in federal prison in 2020 after multiple securities fraud convictions, and has previously been linked through business dealings to Hunter Biden and his former associate Devon Archer. President Trump commuted Galanis's sentence in March 2025.
Chrisley addressed the age gap head-on in a recent episode of her "Unlocked" podcast. "Yes, there is a huge age gap there, OK?" she said, adding that she'd kept much of the relationship private specifically because of public criticism — "but I genuinely do not care." She described the relationship as the healthiest she's been in and said Galanis supports her career without feeling threatened by it. Her father, Todd Chrisley, is reportedly not a fan of the age difference, though he has not spoken publicly about it.
'You Are Not a Headline'
The sharpest response came a day after the announcement, when Chrisley posted ultrasound footage to her Instagram Story with a message addressed directly to her unborn child, according to reporting on the post. She told the baby they were worth everything, insisted they were "not a headline" or "a controversy," and said she would never apologize for celebrating them.
The irony of the backlash isn't lost on Chrisley's fans: her own parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, were convicted in 2022 on bank fraud and tax evasion charges tied to their reality-TV finances, serving time before Trump pardoned both of them in 2025. Savannah has said she and Galanis first connected while she was working to secure those pardons — in her words, in "the world of politics" — though it remains unclear whether the two men's paths crossed behind bars.
Neither Chrisley nor Galanis has announced wedding details beyond the May 2027 target date.
