Love Island USA alum Huda Mustafa is putting an end to dating speculation. After a livestream with content creator PlaqueBoyMax went viral and sent fans into a frenzy over the pair's chemistry, Mustafa told TMZ on Wednesday that the two are simply close friends.

"No, we're friends," Mustafa said, describing Max as "the sweetest ever" and one of the people who has helped her settle into life in Los Angeles since her move west. She said he regularly checks in to make sure she has everything she needs.

Mustafa also addressed chatter questioning Max's sexuality following the release of his recent music video, telling fans the internet needs to "chill" and arguing his message was about embracing self-expression rather than anything romantic between the two of them.

The clarification comes after weeks of clips circulating showing the pair's easy rapport on stream, fueling shipping among fans of both creators. Mustafa used the moment to also tease new music of her own, hinting at a song she called "a good way to end the summer," suggesting she's shifting focus back to her own projects as the romance rumors get put to rest — for now.
