'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Muscles Summer Box Office Past $4 Billion
Marvel's web-slinger topped the charts for a second straight weekend as the domestic summer box office crossed the $4 billion mark for the first time in years.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" held off the competition for a second straight weekend, pulling in $144.2 million and pushing its domestic haul to $654.3 million, according to Box Office Mojo. The win helped push the domestic summer box office past $4 billion for the first time in years.
"The Odyssey" held at No. 2 with $31.7 million ($461.3 million total), while the horror thriller "One Night Only" opened in third place with $5.5 million, per Deadline.
