Tiffany Haddish pleaded guilty Tuesday to a DUI charge stemming from her 2022 arrest in Peachtree City, Georgia, resolving the case on the same day her trial was scheduled to begin in Fayette County.

The comedian and "Girls Trip" star entered a negotiated guilty plea to DUI "less safe" driving, according to Fox 5 Atlanta's report on the proceedings, with all other traffic charges from the original arrest dismissed as part of the agreement. Haddish appeared via Zoom to enter her plea.

Terms of the Deal

Under the plea agreement, Haddish was sentenced to 12 months of probation and must complete a state-approved DUI course and a substance abuse evaluation, according to Spectrum News' coverage of the plea. She'll also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing and is barred from using either during her probation. Haddish received credit for time already served and avoided any additional jail time, though she does face a driver's license suspension in Georgia.

The case dates back more than four years, to a January 2022 arrest in Peachtree City, a suburb roughly 30 miles southwest of Atlanta. Details of the original traffic stop were central to the charges that were ultimately dismissed under Tuesday's agreement.

HADDISH RECEIVED CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED, AVOIDED ADDITIONAL JAIL TIME, AND ACCEPTED A GEORGIA LICENSE SUSPENSION AS PART OF THE DEAL.

Haddish, 46, has continued working steadily through the years-long legal proceedings, appearing in film and television projects and on the stand-up circuit. Representatives for the actress did not immediately release a statement following Tuesday's hearing.

With the plea entered, the case is now formally closed. Haddish's probation terms will run for the next year, during which she'll be required to comply with the court-ordered testing and treatment conditions.
