Travis Barker Reveals Hospital Stay Was for Emergency Nerve Surgery
The Blink-182 drummer says numbness in his arm and hand since a show last month led to a cubital tunnel release procedure.
Travis Barker cleared up speculation over a recent hospital visit, posting from his hospital bed on Instagram Stories to explain he'd had surgery to fix a pinched nerve. The Blink-182 drummer said his arm, hand and fingers had been numb since a show the previous month, and a nerve test led doctors to perform a cubital tunnel release — a procedure to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve at the elbow, according to Hello! Magazine. He said he wanted to "get ahead of it" so he can keep drumming for years, with recovery expected to take a few weeks.
