Ben Affleck Unmasks Himself as LA's Mystery Aflac Billboard Tagger
Weeks of graffiti reading 'BEN AFFLECK' across Aflac ads turned out to be an elaborate advertising campaign, not vandalism.
Ben Affleck was photographed this week apparently spray-painting his own name across an Aflac billboard in a Los Angeles alleyway, revealing himself as the source of graffiti that had been mysteriously appearing on the insurer's ads around the city for about a week.
The stunt turned out to be a deliberate marketing campaign rather than actual vandalism, tied to a new advertising partnership between Affleck and Aflac built around the wordplay of the actor's surname and the insurer's name, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The campaign is set to run through the summer of 2027.
Photos showed Affleck dressed casually in a gray hoodie and jeans as he tagged a bright blue Aflac billboard with black spray paint, capping a rollout that had already generated plenty of confused double-takes from Angelenos before the reveal.
