Lionel Richie checked himself into intensive care for cardiac testing after visibly struggling through the final stretch of his concert at The Muny in St. Louis, according to multiple reports. The 76-year-old singer asked his team to bring him a chair so he could sit through his closing number, "All Night Long," before being taken in for evaluation.

Doctors were testing for cardiac-related issues and also examining the possibility of mild dehydration, TMZ reported. He was released and back home recovering within days, according to follow-up reporting.

It marked the second time this year Richie has been hospitalized after a health scare onstage; he was rushed to a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, in June after falling ill mid-performance. Richie has not publicly commented on whether the incidents are related or announced any changes to his ongoing tour schedule.
