The Denver Broncos pulled off one of the wildest comebacks of the young NFL season Sunday night, rallying from a 16-0 halftime deficit to beat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 on Bo Nix's diving quarterback sneak with 47 seconds left, according to ESPN's game recap.

The Rams dominated the first half, outgaining Denver 273 yards to 67 and building a seemingly comfortable two-score lead behind quarterback Matthew Stafford. Then the game flipped. Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga intercepted Stafford and returned it roughly 67 yards for a touchdown, handing Denver its first lead of the night, per CBS Sports' live coverage of the game.

Down to the wire

Los Angeles answered with a touchdown of its own to retake the lead, setting up a frantic final stretch. Nix, who finished 17-of-34 for 186 yards with two touchdown passes (to Pat Bryant and Nate Adkins) and one interception, took over from there — driving Denver into position for the go-ahead score before leaping over the goal line himself on a sneak with less than a minute remaining.

DOWN 16 AT THE HALF, DENVER FOUND A WAY TO WIN IT ON THE GROUND

A second Denver interception on the ensuing Rams possession sealed the win, according to NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk. Stafford finished 30-of-55 for 390 yards and two touchdowns despite the loss, and became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 20,000-plus career yards with two different franchises, having done so previously with the Detroit Lions.

The Rams fall to 1-2 to open the season after squandering a big early lead, while Denver's comeback — fueled by its defense's two second-half takeaways — keeps the Broncos rolling early in the year. Both teams return to action next weekend.
